Four Splendid Seasons in TorstilaTorstila is located a few kilometers away from Joroinen, which is a pitoresque Finnish village "in the middle of nowhere", yet with all services you need. In the Summer Joroinen hosts some world class music concerts and is the home of Finnish Triathlon, with its traditional half distance race in July. The village is located about 300 km north of Helsinki, which means we have beautiful warm Summers with white nights and harsh Winters with plenty of snow. Shifting seasons, Spring and Autumn, offer a magical spectrum of vibes for all your senses.

About us
Torstila has been our family's home since 2017. That's when we decided to "up-shift" and left behind the city lights and dusts of Helsinki. Since then we have gotten into the fascinating world of organic farming, slowly renovated historical buildings on the farm and explored the lakes and forests around. Every day we are amazed by the beauty that surrounds us, and it is that amazement that drives us to farm in a sustainable way, preserving the land and the waters, and that on the other hand makes us want to share this uniqueness with travelers, visitors and friends.
ARNEVI
She's the designer, the book keeper, the planner and the explorer. She comes up with at least two new projects per week. Before throwing her self into farming, Arnevi made a career in international sales and marketing, working for global brands in the sports and automotive industry. She holds a Masters degree in Economics. Torstila manor house has been in Arnevi's family since 1870's and she became the current owner in 2017. 
JUHA
Juha is the brain and the muscles of Torstila. He is constantly making innovations and developments to the machinery and processes: thinking, coding, building, breaking, rethinking. Before moving to Torstila Juha worked in the IT industry leading massive change projects in Finland and abroad. He is a Master of Science in Technology, holds a degree in forestry and is a certified electrician. In addition, we have two little girls in the family, Maria and Suvi. |
